22.05.2012: Coaches Corner - Joes Players of the week

Player of the Week:

Ron Hairston
5 tackles, 2 Sacks, 4 TFL for 19 yards, 1 Forced Fumble
"Ron played his heart out. He made some huge plays for us in times when we really needed them. His stat line from this game is one of the best I've seen from a Dlineman. Ron has been working extremely hard at practice, even got an extra day in on wednesday and its paying off. He was a huge part of our victory on sunday."

Offense Player of the Week:

Eddie Ez Vachon
26 Rushes for 239 Yards 1 TD
"Eddie was a bull on sunday. He put a lot of mileage on the field. He made the big plays when we needed them. I am very happy for Eddie to see such a high yardage come off from sundays game because he earned it. Eddie is the type of guy if you get him the ball 26 times you know you are going to walk away with a win."

Defense Player of the Week:

The Entire Defensive Line (C. Clark 9 Tack, 2 TFL,Forced Fumble, Sac) (G Billinger -7 Tks, Sac, TFL, FR) ) (Ben Shepperd- 5 Tack, Sac, TFL) Ron Hairston
"The Dline came to play on sunday. All four of them played lights out. We had 5 sacks, 9 tackles for a loss and a lot of pressure on stuttgarts QB. Thats the type of play I expected out of those guys. I am very proud of them. They work extremely hard in Practice. Joschi also came in and had a tackle for loss and a sac. Not only do the first four play lights out, we have depth on the dline also.

Special Forces Player of the Week:

Sebastian Lau
3 Knock out blocks on Returns
"Basti is the type of guy you need on special teams, he is a special player. He asked me to put him on Kick off Return and I am glad I did. He laid some people out. He is setting an example that our special teams have to carry us this year if we want to get where we want to go.

Scout Player of the Week:

André Scheidler
"Andre is our 2nd Team running back and has been dominating over the last few second team games. He has rushed for easily over 100 yards per game in each of his 2nd team games. Andre ran hard all week in practice and gave us a good look of what to expect from stuttgart's big running backs."

"I am very proud of all the guys on the Mercenaries. I also would like to point out that anytime a RB runs for even over 100 yards the Oline has to get some credit. Great job Oline. Great team effort on Sunday. Look forward to playing Franken for the battle of 1st place in the south"
